Remove the Junk and Make Room for the New

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10

Each New Year people make resolutions, most of which they are not successful in keeping. However, many look forward to the New Year because it gives opportunity to start anew. To put old things behind us and to have a fresh start.

At the beginning of December, God told me to close out and finish everything I started but did not complete in 2009.  Then He told me that I would not be successful in getting it all done, but to acknowledge those things in prayer.

I realized that 2010 is going to be a big year for many. There will be things revealed to the body of Christ like never before. Lives will be changed and people will come into the knowledge of what it truly means to be “set free.”

I have realized in this last month as God has been stripping things away from me, that you can’t expect to get ahead, be successful in areas of your life, or be transformed without first getting rid of the things of old.

We expect God to do great things in different areas of our lives, but we never clean out our junk to make room for Him to do it.

We carry around unforgiveness, hurt and anger; we keep dead end relationships – telling ourselves “it’s just something ‘to do’.”

We refuse to change, mature and be different because the fear of “something” keeps us bound and hindered.

As you look back over 2009 moving into 2010, choose the things ahead and close out those things of your unproductive past.

Renew your mind, renew your life.

He loves you!

Blessings,

Tina
