What Kind of Employee Are You?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Jeremiah 17:9

I heard someone once say that we spend a whole lot of time putting the magnifying glass on others, but that when it came to ourselves we could barely see all of the crazy things that we ourselves have going on.

The funny thing about all of this is, everyone else around us knows all about those crazy things that we ourselves are ignoring, and if we asked them about them, they probably would tell us.

Day in and day out, people head to work. I sit and I listen to people complain about having to go to work. They complain about their co-workers and the things that bug them about others. But have you ever sat and asked yourself, “What kind of worker am I?”

I know we all would like to think that we are the stellar employee, but in what areas are we weak?

Do you find yourself seeking rewards at work based on a self-gratification or are you going to work each day and doing your work as if you were doing it for the Lord?

When we are working for the Lord, we no longer have time to worry about the people that are trying to steal our ideas; other people’s work ethic; the folks that tick you off daily – the crazy boss that flips out on you for no reason (and there really is a reason and it may have nothing to do with you).

Whatever the case may be…Are you there to serve yourself today or are you there to serve God?

When you are taking care of your needs, you will never be satisfied.

When you are taking care of God’s needs, all of the things that appear to be crooked at work, will somehow straighten out and become right.

The promotions you desire will come.

The opportunity to pursue your career dreams will become available.

The opportunity to leave that job and work for yourself, should you so desire, would become available.

Everyday you roll out of bed to be about your grind – remember to put God first, doing the work for Him, and watch how things turn around.

No longer walk around with hidden anger, unforgiveness and strife in your heart because of work and the people at work.

No longer be disobedient to those who are asking you for something and you somehow can’t find time to simply do or provide the things they are asking you for.

When we are disobedient to our leaders, we are really being disobedient to God. When our leaders ask us to do something and we don’t feel the need to do them. When we feel the need to not show up even. It all ties back to the disobedience within us toward God.

Instead, give thanks and praise purely from your heart for what God has done; for what He is doing. Give thanks and praise that you have been given the opportunity to have a test. Give God praise and thanks for the beautiful result at the end of passing your test.

In everything – when it doesn’t quite look right and you can’t figure out how He’s going to work it out, give thanks.

You know why?

You’ve already gotten the victory, you just have to know that you have it.

Trust God – serve God.

Blessings,

Tina

If you desire to start a relationship with God and are not sure how to began, say this prayer and mean it in your heart – Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner in need of a Savoir. I believe that You died for my sins, rose from the grave and are alive forever. I open the door of my heart and life, receiving You, Jesus Christ, as my Savior and Lord.  Thank You for saving me.  Amen.

Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you.

So true – I guess that’s why God is love. He’s not selfish and doesn’t force us to choose Him at all.
