With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

Psalm 91:16 (NIV)

As I look around and begin to see the lives of people that I grew up with or have come to know in my lifetime pass away, I begin to take a look at my own life to see if I am living a life pleasing to God.

A life that is happy, full of joy and peace. A life that I have given to God because I trust Him with it. Trust that He has the best judgement over mine. A life where I have been obedient to God and all that He has instructed me to do.

There are so many things we take for granted in this life. We often think that we will live forever. That our lives are somehow ours and ours alone.

That the choices we make over time, day after day, hour after hour will only effect us and no one else.

Often times we forget the paths we create for ourselves simply by a choice that we made. We forget about the lasting effect our choices will have on our future generations all because we decided to do things our way.

Make this day the day you begin to seek God for choices in your life. Seek God for all things and not just some.

Ask yourself if you truly trust your life with God or if you need to be the driver of your destiny.

There are promises to us to receive in this life if we follow the things of God and do as He has instructed for us to do in His word.

What path will you choose?

Blessings,

Tina

If you desire to start a relationship with God and are not sure how to began, say this prayer and mean it in your heart – Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe that You died for my sins, rose from the grave and are alive forever. I open the door of my heart and life, receiving You, Jesus Christ, as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me. Amen

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken…

1 Samuel 15:22

As a parent it is often times difficult to see your children do things contrary to what you originally instructed for them to do.

It causes anger and dissappointment when you ask your children to do specific things and then they decide to go against or ignore everything that you’ve asked them to do.

God has asked us all to do specific things in our lives, either personally or in His word.

However, we have no always been obedient to what He’s asked for us to do.

As a mother, I know that the reason I ask my children to do certain things is not because I am just making up rules.

It is because I have a desired goal for their lives that will ultimately lead them to success for their lives.

God is the same way. He ultimately wants success for our lives.

He desires for us to have everything that He has set aside for us to receive.

It all starts with us - Our obedience to listen to Him and to follow.

My obedience to God is my honor to the Lord.

Blessings,

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 26:3

I have learned in life that there are certain things that bother each and every one of us. However, the same thing that may bother me, may not bother you at all, and vice versa.

We all operate in different ways and no one is the same in every area of their life.

As I get older and began to learn more about God, His ways and His character, the more I realize more and more about myself.

One of the things that has become apparent to me is how much time I have wasted in my past caring about the thoughts of other people.

I’m not talking about being insensitive to people and their feelings. I am referring to not doing something because of what I thought someone else may think. Or actually doing something because of what I thought someone else may think.

I realized the more I operated in this manner, the less I truly got to enjoy the life that God has given me.

So I started to change some things around. I began to seek God first about situations and then make decisions based solely on that.

As easy as this may sound, it gets to be quite challenging. Whenever you set your mind to do something, you may notice that a test comes your way to see if you really meant what you said you were going to do.

It seemed as if people would come out of the woodwork, expressing their opinions to me about why they thought I should do something.

The negative folks would come out and make sure they made known their thoughts to me. Anything contrary to what I said I would do, happened all in an effort to get me off focus.

I say all of that to say this. When you truly seek God about doing something and continue to cast your cares on Him. I mean truly give it over to Him and don’t go back and pick up your issue, problem or situation…you will have a perfect peace.

You will begin to learn what true life enjoyment is all about.

Whatever situation you may be facing today, make a decision to take your eye off that situation and tell God about what’s really bugging you, and then turn it over to Him to work out for you.

It may seem scary and even challenging for those of you used to controlling everything. But one thing I can tell you, and I speak from experience, is that God won’t let you down, if you truly rely on Him.

He continually shows me this over and over again.

He loves us!

Blessings,

Tina

If you desire to start a relationship with God and are not sure how to began, say this prayer and mean it in your heart – Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus.
Day in and day out He calls me within my spirit.

He longs for me to spend time with Him.

He longs to spend time with me when I awake.

He longs to spend time with me in the evenings, instead of me watching television.

He longs to spend time with me early when everyone else is sleeping.

What would my life be like if everytime I heard His voice I would actually spend that time with God?

What would my heart really look like if I continued to fill myself up with Him?

Do you hear God calling you or do you muffle out the call with housework, family, friends or work?

Is the latest gossip more important to you then spending time with God?

What happens when a situation arises?

Will you be defeated – feeling far away from God? Or will you spend more time with God, so that when the situation arises you walk in victory?

Answer the call of God – there’s something He wants to share with you.

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Mark 12:30-31

I was in a conversation with someone earlier this week and we were discussing a few things about the different types of people around the world and their thought patterns and behaviors.

By different types of people, I’m not referring ethnicity’s, rather character and beliefs.

In the midst of my conversation, I clearly heard God remind me of one important key. The key that’s above all, the most important and that is love.

Are we truly loving people, even when they are different from us? Even when they look different, act different, believe different from us?

Love is truly the key for all things to work.

When there is strife and animosity, love can turn those negatives feelings into something different.

I’m not just saying this – this is something I’ve actually experienced. Something I’ve put to practice.

Sometimes just by being who we currently are can cause animosity and cause people to feel like they are not sure of how to react towards us.

However, despite what you believe, how you act and the choices you make, I know that I am called to love each and every person.

When you are out in your daily life, meeting people and cultivating your relationships – remember that we should be displaying love toward one another.

It has been my experience, that people can’t truly see the love of God, if I am criticising them, passing judgement and trying to make myself appear to be better than anyone.

I have learned that we should simply be the “sign” to lead others to the love of God and that starts first by us being in love.

I continue to work on my daily love walk and encourage you to do the same.

When you ask God to help you to be in love, even when it’s not favorable – He truly has some great things waiting for you.

Be encouraged to love. It is one of the greatest things that we can do.

Gods love can change any situation.

Renew your mind, change your life.

Blessings,

Tina

If you desire to start a relationship with God and are not sure how to began, say this prayer and mean it in your heart – Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. One of the secrets to giving a husband honor is to allow him to fail.Unless he’s engaging in self-destructive behavior, sometimes it’s good for a man to make mistakes—and every man is going to mess up from time to time.

My wife, Karen, is wonderful and we have a great marriage, but she’s a totally different person when she gets in the car. She’s the most demonstrative driver and passenger I have ever met. She calls people names—”Mister,” “Lady,” etc.—and those are just the nice ones. She just cannot drive without getting upset with people.

And it’s not just toward other drivers, either. She gets offended at my driving, too. When I am driving, it’s just a constant narration of what I’m doing wrong.

We have learned over the years that the “Las Vegas” rule applies to time spent in the car—whatever happens in the car, stays in the car.

We’ve learned to deal with it, but early in our marriage it caused a lot of trouble. We’re not alone. Once I heard Joyce Meyer talking about how she used to nag her husband, Dave, when they were in the car. But then she was sitting at a stoplight and the Holy Spirit said to her “Why can you not shut up?”

It’s funny, but true. Sometimes wives just can’t shut up when it comes to nagging. Women, sometimes you have to let your husband do some things wrong. Let him do some things you don’t agree with. Let him fail without shaming and nagging.

Any woman can honor a perfect man. The trick is honoring one who is imperfect.

Another way to honor your husband is to confront him in love when he’s doing something wrong, but let God be the enforcer. As equals, you have the right to tell your husband anything you want to tell him. But once you tell him, you can’t just continue to nag and browbeat him and make his life miserable until he does it your way.

Once you’ve said your piece, you need to let God to enforce it. Pray, “God, change his heart.” And you and the Holy Spirit become partners. The result is that you never have to make your husband feel bad. You don’t have to punish him. The Holy Spirit changes him.

And there’s always the possibility that you are wrong and your husband is right. If you are wrong and you pray about it, then God will change your heart—and you won’t end up damaging the marriage.

Honor your husband by allowing him to fail, by confronting him in love, and by allowing God to change him.

Blessings,

Don’t allow yourself to fall into the trap that having someone else’s approval over your live will somehow complete you.

How many times have we seen people change in relationships because they think by doing so it will win over a person?

The age old lesson that still has not been learned for centuries; how many times has a woman had a child for a man because she thought that somehow having that child would keep that man?

What are we doing?

What are trying to obtain?

Anyone we are trying to gain approval of, we become a servant of.

In Galatians 1:10, Paul makes mention of pleasing men verses looking to please God.

Instead of putting our focus on people pleasing, let’s begin to put our focus on the love of God; pleasing God, and watch how He changes our lives.

A change that begins with a change on the inside of us, to be reflected out.

Renew your mind – change your life.

Blessings,

Amen

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Ephesians 3:9

In the state of a recession and uncertain financial times, we began to see people react and “to do” according to their circumstances.

However, what if we lived beyond our current circumstances?

By this I mean, what if we prepared ourselves prior to situations that would arise?

What if we lived our lives to affect the world, instead of things and situations to affect or influence us?

There is something in life waiting for us to move beyond where we currently are.

Something waiting to happen, when we show up and begin to make a difference.

When discovering a gift that you have, don’t allow the gift to define you as just being that gift.

Instead, be encouraged to seek God about what He would have you to do with a particular gift and continue to seek Him about more gifts, more talents, more purpose and the mission that He has for you to complete with those gifts.

Don’t define yourself by what you have, but define yourself by what God says that you are and by what He is calling you to do.

Be encouraged to get started on your dreams and ideas. Don’t wait around for someone else to do the very thing that you, yourself know you have a talent to do.

Seek God about how to get started and go for it. No longer allow fear to suffocate you and keep you from striving to be all that you have within yourself to be.

Renew your mind and change your life.

Blessings,

Tina

If you desire to start a relationship with God and are not sure how to began, say this prayer and mean it in your heart – Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I know that I am a sinner in need of a Savoir. I believe that You died for my sins, rose from the grave and are alive forever. I open the door of my heart and life, receiving You, Jesus Christ, as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Proverbs 9:10

If God has given you creativity and wisdom from above, why then would you forget or not include God in your life?

Why would you continue to try to live your life like everyone else? Look like everyone else – being average?

God has called us out of an average way of life. However, not everyone will run the race, and those who may start running, may not finish.

Some will talk themselves out of it before they even get started.

Some of you will get started, but give up because you’ve allowed yourselves to become overwhelmed.

Some of you will give up because you’ve allowed life experiences and circumstances to become an excuse.

What people fail to realize is the wisdom – that is the creative edge that God gives us.

People fail to look up for their help. Up to God.

Instead, people choose to settle for the things of this world until it all passes from them.

We even choose traditions and family above God, even when He’s calling us out from those things.

No longer settle for things of average.

Go above and beyond to what God is calling you to do.

Renew your mind, change your life.

Blessings,

Ephesians 5:25 says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” A woman’s number-one need is for security, and nothing meets that need like a sacrificial husband. The highest role for a man in his life is to bring his wife to her full potential. The word husband comes from an older word: husbandman. It’s a farming term. It means “a grower.” We are called husbands because we are growing something. God gives our wife to us and asks us to nourish her and cherish her—just like Christ nourishes and cherishes the Church.

To nourish means to feed to maturity. Let’s say you plant a seed. What will it take for that seed to turn into a mature, flourishing plant?

The way men often behave, you would think our tendency might be to look at that seed and say, “Well, grow up. Quit being a seed and just grow up.” When it doesn’t grow, we get angrier and angrier. We accuse it of being immature. We tell it to go get help.

Obviously we’re wrong. Because seeds don’t grow when farmers lecture them. Seeds grow when they are exposed to the right conditions: sunlight, soil, and water. Security is fertile soil and sunlight for a wife. To provide this, as a husband, you need to first communicate to your wife that you will do whatever it takes to help her feel secure.

Secondly, you need to study her and be sensitive to her needs. An observant farmer can tell when a plant needs water, or when the soil needs additional nutrients. That’s because he knows his crops.

A good husband knows his wife and can predict what she needs exactly when she needs it.

A third way to care for her is to be a faithful financial provider and money manager. Work hard. Take care of the money. Listen to her concerns.

This doesn’t mean you dominate the finances—both of you are partners in this—but you pay attention to her worries when it comes to money. This makes her feel secure.

All marriages would benefit from the husband sitting down and asking his wife, “Do I make you feel secure?” If she says no, then ask “What do I do that makes you feel insecure? Or what do I not do that makes you feel that way?”

She will tell you the truth. If you’ll listen to what she says and not be defensive, God will use her to fix you. Women are relationship experts. She knows what is wrong, and the Holy Spirit will partner with her to repair the marriage.

When that occurs, it will mean that God is using you to meet her need for security. She will respond positively, and you’ll both experience the joys of a fruitful, flourishing marriage.

Blessings,
